Lifeline Bins – A Win/Win for Charity

They have finally arrived!

Well, sort of. We now have four Lifeline bins conveniently located and easily accessible at the school along Edmondstone Street (near gate V5 – see the school map here) where you can donate your pre-loved toys, books, clothes and other home items for a worthy cause. As you can see, they don’t look entirely flattering. There is still work to be done to build q concrete footing and level the bins, as well as tidy the surrounds. This work will be completed as soon as funds are available.

What to donate, and what not to donate

Lifeline will accept good quality, wearable clothes, shoes, accessories and bedding with no rips, stains or tears. Acceptable products include men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and accessories such as shoes and handbags that you would wear again.

On the other hand, Lifeline is unable to accept broken or damaged items, or clothing with broken zippers or stains. They do not accept white goods, electrical items or mattresses at Lifeline donation bins.

Donations of furniture and bulky goods MUST NOT be left beside Lifeline bins.

You can read more about how Lifeline use money raised through their clothing initiative here.

Win / Win

You may be wondering why these Lifeline bins are an initiative of the BSHS P&C Association? The revenue generated by your donation will go to school enhancement projects that benefit our students and community. With every bin we fill, $40 goes towards invaluable support for our student’s development. Your quality used items can become another person’s treasure. So, please spread the word!

From all of us at BSHS P&C, thank you for your support.
